"Drawing inspiration from the deep, contemplative essence of the sea, Mariner’s Rhyme Eau de Parfum by Francesca Bianchi unveils a fresh yet intricately layered olfactory journey. Unlike my previous creations, this fragrance subtly echoes the beloved animalic-powdery theme, employing grey amber as its primal note while retaining a transparent luminosity. Rooted in my profound connection with the ocean, it draws parallels to the sacred drama depicted in S.T. Coleridge’s "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" and the evocative instrumental piece "Sailor’s Tale" from King Crimson's "Islands" album. The scent unfolds with a citrusy and ozonic burst, infused with bergamot, grapefruit, and the crispness of lavender, evoking the lively spirit of the sea. As the fragrance matures, layers of orange flower and iris emerge, lending depth and complexity to the composition. The heart of the fragrance is anchored by a blend of ambergris, oakmoss, musk, patchouli, and incense, reminiscent of the briny taste of oyster shells and the profound depths of the ocean.
